Alternatively, the bio parent might save the kid from a bad situation. Happened to my friend whose adopted parents split up and he got shipped off to his aunt and uncle in a different town.

“...for fear of having her children removed by Child Protective Services, lack of faith and trust in the medical services and religious reasons.” I'm not sure why everyone is focusing solely on the religion angle. There seems to be other issues at work here as well.

(Also, yeah, sorry I'm two years late. Guest comments are grouped by IP, and I was in a different state for two years and never tracked this comment back down to see if it had replies. Now I'm back home and can see it. I figure no one will see the reply this late, but hey, the Internet is an archive and I didn't want to leave a question unanswered or a story untold if I was in a position to add to it.)

It was a Code Lyoko fanfiction. I was frustrated by "mistakes" I perceived other fanfictions making, like introducing a new generation of characters or bringing back dead enemies and allies or changing the setting (I've grown and realized that those were good too, I just wasn't their intended audience) and decided to "do it right." It was an original flavor series continuation fic. (Which was fun when the eventual actual Season 5 ended up having some similar plot developments as the ones I'd hinted at.) I only finished a couple episodes and I made a mistake in formatting so the fanfiction was published as a gigantic wall of text with no chapters or even paragraph breaks, and it also needed a significant bit of editing (particularly to have a consistent tense and point of view), so I wouldn't consider it well-written, but I'm still proud of the ideas and feel like the resulting episodes I wrote achieved my goal of feeling like a natural continuation of the series.

Only lead I could find is a reddit comment suggesting it's in Indianapolis, Indiana. A Google street view search seems to confirm it. There's a fenced-off parking lot instead of that white building, but the buildings behind the white one are the same, the street has the same contours even down to that section of missing grass, and the chapel matches (although that's a common LDS chapel design). The intersection is W Market St and N White River Pkwy W Dr.

Try to find a DM or local story that can play with you. They can help introduce you and teach you how to play while keeping it simple.

Likely a textbook warehouse for the local school district getting rid of old (outdated or physical vs the ever increasing trend of digital only) textbooks. There just isn't the space to hold on to everything.

A country's worth is not measured by the way they treat their women.
A country's "worth" is measured by their assets and debts, if you're going to generalize like that try for something like a country's people are measured by how they treat those in need of help" or "children/elderly/disabled/animals" or "those they disagree with. In India, and I assume Bangladeshi's caste system is the same since they share a border, if you think anywhere else is whatever-ist/-isms (race, sex, whatever) then oh my goodness you should see the casteism/prejudice against other castes, you won't be praising the country for one instance of students being protective.
If you see someone protecting women of their community/country but also making any random person's life hell you wouldn't think they were a good person or a person of value.
