Are we talking about graphics or giraffes here. Giraffe is obviously the exception to the rule here sinse g makes /g/ and not /j/. I don't actually know what gif stands for, but if the g stands for graphics then the answer is pretty clear is it not? Furthermore fuck English for having an exception to literally every rule there is.
