That argument is like saying it's okay to shoot someone in the face with a bb gun, every time you see them, because they're less likely to die than if you shoot them in the shoulder with a real gun once. And it's a a damn lousy excuse to use to not train or accept responsibility for your dog.
I'm sure there are some bad pit bulls out there, but at the end of the day, it falls on the owner 90% of the time to make certain WHATEVER breed of dog they own is properly trained, socialized, and contained, according to its temperament. If you don't know how, then maybe don't start with a dog like a pit bull that's already suffering from a horrifying reputation, due mainly to people who wanted to exploit them or didn't understand what they were getting into. But don't get a yappy little demon rat with an attitude and write off it's displays of aggression just because it's small and pathetic in comparison.

Not really super relevant at this point, but I always find it odd when people get upset that a part of the animal was used in a different product. Not talking about vegetarians or vegans really, just humans in general. I understand when they get upset if an animal was killed exclusively FOR that part (ie: ivory, shark fins, etc), and when animals are tested on in inhumane conditions. But if an animal is being killed for food, and they get the steak and all that etc, isn't it GOOD if someone takes that horn left behind and uses it for something? Or the skin, Or the hooves, or, yes, even the rectum. Why is it more acceptable to let all that stuff go to waste just because it's not as conventional? Isn't that practically the same as killing an animal exclusively for its tusks? Isn't that what nearly drove the bison to extinction?
Again, not talking about vegans and veg's necessarily since they're opposed to animal products in general, just a reaction I've observed among people
