Additionally, the ‘jokes’ in question weren’t about something frivolous like stereotypes and he wasn’t saying something like ‘all gay men are flamboyant amiright fellow heteros?’ He was joking about assaulting gay people for being gay, and specifically his son. This is a huge fear of every LGBT person’s—being disowned and the violence that can result from coming out—and even joking about how you’re going to commit acts of violence against x group for BEING x group is not okay.
