I think the post was reffering to PC's as the whole tower & monitor setup. Secondly when it comes to cheap laptops apple doesn't really have anything new under $1000 vs PC which has plenty of options even under $500. At that price point you can't expect the product to be the same build quality. However if you go up to MacBook prices for a PC (as I did $1200) not only will your internal specs be a lot faster but the build quality is top notch as well. Bought my ASUS almost 2 years ago now, and haven't had a single issue with it (I also travel a lot, so it gets a ton of use) 16gb ram. Quad core i7 and a 2K display. With a split memory system HDD, & SSD. That gives me a combined 1300gb of storage. (By the way I have nothing against Mac's. There's a reason they're at their price points. Mainly the OS. In the end it really just comes down to why you're buying the computer in the first place.)
