As a guy who has hung out with guys I can say with 100% confidence that it's very unlikely to find a group that has an "alpha". You see it in the movies and tv shows but it doesn't really translate to real life. And if you do find a group that has an "alpha" if you can point out the second or third in command, and it's actually right, then I'd be really impressed. Barring groups of military guys that may have someone with a higher rank in the group the only "alpha" I can think of would be the guy that has money and is willing to pay for someone else. Then sure, it's only natural to follow them cause they're the one with the money.
