Yeah, American children are separated from their criminal parents all the time, but often not into harsh and dangerous... camps? (I’m not sure what the correct word to use there would be, sorry) And if they are, then don’t you think that’s something that needs to be changed?

See, I agree with that statement, but we also must think whether the punishment is equal to the crime. In addition, they’re kids- they likely didn’t want to break the law but they had to because their parents were dragging them along.
