Well i looked it up, guess "rickrolling" didnt start happening til 2008. Not that it really matters anyway. It never says anything about going to hogwarts with harry or something though. It could and should be assumed that when he says imagine going to school at hogwarts....he means present day.

I didn't even realize they put religion on dog tags. Wonder what the reasoning is on that. So people would know what kind of funeral to give them?

Seems like a big hassle to me. Why not just use the cards when you get em and just spend money next year? You aren't "saving" any money this way. You are still receiving X amount in gift cards and sending out X amount in gifts. Guess if you are just super terribad with finances it might make sense to save the cards since you don't see them as cash on hand to spend. Meh

Don't really see the difference. If you are clarifying something, aren't you just giving an example to make it more clear? Or if you are giving an example, isn't that just to clarify what you mean?

Yes, I'm sure you were just so great and never ever used a stroller or sat in a grocery cart, or got carried anywhere from the very moment you learned to walk. Get off your high horse, not that you'd ride one anyway, you'd be walking right?

Minimum wage 13 comments

and only 3 of them with employees? Now imagine it down to 2 or even 1 lane. Less people working also means less people paying taxes, taxes that go to things such as welfare, which by the way will also be increased since less people working means higher amounts on welfare.

Maybe get a real job and the BARE ASS MINIMUM wouldn't even matter anymore? I mean seriously, even the lowest shitty jobs I know of, if you are half ass decent at your work and stay there very long you get some sort of a raise. If you have any sort of raise at all, you aren't making minimum wage anymore and it shouldnt affect you anymore.
What the minimum wage DOES affect is that small business owner hiring a teenager to sweep a warehouse after school, or that 3rd worker that he doesn't REALLY need, but can afford to help the guy out at only 7-8 bucks an hour. Raise min wage and all the sudden you cant afford to be doing that anymore, which means less jobs available. Even big stores like McDonalds are gonna cut costs and get by with as few workers as possible. Raise their prices because now their input costs are higher (even if they let people go and it actually went down) AND you'll have to wait in lines longer. Ever been to a walmart/target/whatever with the 30 different check outs

ssshhhh, you are poking holes in the almighty atheist arguments against religion. That can't be allowed because atheists are super smart and know everything and thus nothing they say could possibly be wrong. Of course that tree (which its not even the tree thats so old, just the roots) couldn't have survived a flood. And of course theres not scientific proof that there WAS a massive flood in much of Europe/Asia. And of course those people living during that time wouldn't have the gall to believe it could possibly be a world wide flood.

Well apparently when our forefathers were coming up with the rules for our nation, they figured it would be a dam good idea if we DID NEED GUNS FOR SELF DEFENSE. THATS WHY THEY PUT IT IN THE CONSTITUTION. CAPS REALLY EMPHASIZES MY POINT RIGHT?

"easy" to get a hold of, yet you have to submit more information about yourself to get one (legally) than you do to get just about anything else in your life. Getting a loan for that million dollar house? no prob. Buying a any sort of car (which by the way has TONS more deaths than firearms) sure here ya go. Buying a gun? here let me have your life details first, and god help you if you make a single mistake on this paper.

It could actually be slang is slang for shortened language. slang (the actual word itself) is slang (the word being used for the meaning shortened language) for shortened language (no definition needed).
Slang is slang for slang doesnt make sense though.

Speaking of maternity leave. As an employer, why should I pay somebody to NOT work for me? If you wanna take a month off or whatever, sure thats one thing. But why should I pay you money, to do nothing for my business?

No, I read books for the content. Not to point out to myself (or somebody else that doesn't care) the one little mistake in the hundreds of pages. Even if its a full sentence that's messed up, can you really not figure out what was meant? If you said yes, maybe you shouldn't be reading it to begin with.

And On The 8th Day It Was So Said "Let There Be Science...." 65 comments

Yes, some people do believe that "magical" things like a sunset, rainbow, the existence of humans, etc. is done solely by God. There are also people that believe those "magical" things, while explainable by science, doesn't disprove that a higher being set them into motion. You can believe that there was a Big Bang and humans evolved from apes, etc. and still believe that a God helped in its creation. They don't believe that it was all just random chance that when the earth was formed it just happened to be the exact distance needed from the sun, that the sun was the exact right size needed, or the atoms that made up the earth were just the right ones. They don't think it was complete random chance that the first life forms eventually evolved into humans. They use science and religion to help explain eachother.
And since nobody has proven one way or another (and they can't) calling any group stupid for believing one way is just stupid itself.
