If we follow that line of thought we could easily see the "keys of life" being handed over to the government. As they would more than likely be the ones to dictate who should be allowed to bear children. That to me would be a fairly scary thought.

Life tip for still completing stuff when you’re depressed: if you really can’t, then ask yourself if you can but in 24 hours or 4 hours or 1 hour. Then set it down until that time.
If you can’t commit to any time to do it, then suck it up and tell whoever it is that you can’t. Sorry, can’t. I promise they won’t take it as hard as you are.

This seems to be more of another potatoes to carrots comparison than a potatoes to potatoes.

While yes there is a similarity of sorts between that of a terminally ill person and that of an unborn child; it becomes less so when talking about outcome. The outcome for that of a terminally ill person is generally a slim to none chance of life. Though in the case of an unborn child generally they have a decent shot at living. Though we can argue against that stating that an unborn child is just that unborn and it's quality of life is in imaginary variable that can't be stated. If we argue that then we must ask "well what constitutes a high enough quality of life in order for that child to 'be worthy' of living"? At that point we could easily see having children being reserved for the elite of society. This, yes, would probably solve the issue of overpopulation but would easily and inevitably lead to a distinct lack thereof...

I think it's important to recognize that the issues men face in society stem come from the same problems/prejudices that women face. The stereotypes that say men that they can't show emotion and say that women are always overemotional and that it's *supposed* to be that way are harmful to BOTH genders. Fighting against these ideas benefits both genders.

Ok. Have all the pregnancies come to term. Have all the fathers pay child support. And have the government help with the upbringing: decent healthcare, education and development. It takes a village, right?

I agree. As people we're sometimes eager to compare one type of pain to another, which is completely irrational. Its something that the took me a long time to fully understand because I've seen people in my family who had it worse off than me and I grew up telling myself to "toughen up", which led me to all kinds of unhealthy thoughts in my life. Its this type of comparative pain that causes the problem. A person who lost their arm can't tell someone who lost their hand that their pain is any less valid.

No one wants to not talk about the trouble and misery men face in the society as a collective. The problem is that why is this a counter argument to the miseries and oppression women are subjected to. What kind of 1-up the other game is this. Both topics are equally important but not a counter argument to each other ffs
