Honestly, being a 14 year old girl who is 5' 11", I don't see that much wrong with this. I mean I would probably prefer to date a guy who's not 5' 3", but 5' 9" could work. Also, for whatever reason guys don't tend to go for the taller girls. Shorter girls also usually get the taller guys leaving it hard for tall girls to date someone taller than them.
