They get more credit than they deserve. The evidence that they provide any substantial benefit is nonexistent. The benefits studies show is short term and with low levels of stress. There was a big deal decades ago about the "health benefits" of pets that modern research completely negated. Of course, with "emotion support animals" and the general popularity of pets (dogs in particular) these days, "studies" heralding the health benefits of pets are on the rise again. Therapy dogs are right up there with "gluten free" as far as real health benefits go - nothing but a fad spurred on by stupidity.

Yeah, playtime and worktime are DIFFERENT times. When I’m at work, I work. Trying ‘play’ wont be successful and I probably won’t do any projects with you. But then, I get to choose. Other ladies, not so much. Whining that there’s a worktime BUT ALSO! it’s obvious sometimes playtime!! Infantile nonsense. I pick the timing of my availability. I control the messages I release. Because it’s my damn self. I don’t understand the whining. But when it’s reflex to say but-but-but, maybe don’t talk.

I laugh at dark jokes. Listen, a dark joke is still a joke. A mean joke, maybe. That is to say, nothing covered in any dark jokes has happened to me. I mean, there does need to be boundaries in place. You don’t make a rape joke around a person who has been raped, you don’t make a dead baby joke to a person that’s lost a child, and you don’t make an AIDS joke to someone who has AIDS. You have to understand why that type of joke wouldn’t appeal to them, right?
But the problem is, on social media platforms, everyone sees them. Everyone. Fine, a lot of people complaining are maybe just super sensitive, But a lot of people complaining so have reason to, you know? So the question is- do you keep posting dark jokes or not? I don’t know the answer to that.

Anyway, I don’t think that people who like dark jokes should force it on other people. “It’s just a joke, lighten up!” If they don’t like that brand of humor, they don’t like that brand of humor. Leave it alone.
