Mine changed from time to time; at one point it was the goblins from Spiderwick, sometimes it was a horse, and sometimes it didn't really have a coherent form at all. Sometimes it had rules and sometimes it didn't.

Nice anecdotal evidence there, other guest. There's a lot of problems with using that as evidence, one of which being that you can't be certain that there is a causal relationship between the flu shot and your Grandma's death, especially from the information you've given. This is why we have controlled experiments and peer review.

The second one looked like a DNA strand to me at first glance, but then I realized it didn't look like that at all.

Question. Why is it that we all played the "floor is lava" game as a kid? Is there some innate psychological reason behind it, or is it just really ingrained in our culture? I'm asking because I don't know.

Hold on, hold on. Everyone has the right to hold sacred what they will, but that doesn't mean other people also have to hold those things sacred.

If you ever have to explain to someone why the "slippery slope" is a logical fallacy, just show them this.

I didn't know stress was a factor. That explains a lot, since I usually get my period right when I have to study for a test -.-

When I was a little kid I didn't know that the eggs you buy in stores aren't fertilized, and I wanted to keep one in my room and hatch it. So Mom had to explain to me why that wouldn't work..

Well, cultural memes can and have spread without the Internet, of course.
Still.. For something to spread across that many cultures, and that long ago.. That seems weird. And it would have had to pass from generation to generation too. I don't recall seeing any parents showing it to their kids, but maybe that's just me.

It actually autocorrects proper nouns all the time, like when you spell a common name slightly different than normal.
I always thought it was because it thinks you might be typing an acronym.
