If you really think there were a lot more original stuff posted on here 2 years ago than today, you either have a severe case of nostalgia-itis or just didn't look at other websites much. Its always been mostly reposts from other sites, in fact theres a lot more original stuff today (although most of its stuff like selfies and whatnot). If you were looking for all original content, this was probably never the site for you, its always been, as gorep1xel put it, "cherry-picked" reposts from other sites. Which is perfectly fine and one of the reasons many people choose this site over those other ones. You get to see the good posts without having to wade through as many bad ones.

Don't really see what the big deal is. Every genre of music has things that regularly show up. They have a similar feel, thats kinda what defines it as a genre. Doesn't mean every single song ever for that genre will have all of those things in it, also doesn't mean that just because it has some of those things its automatically a bad song. For every country song about beer and trucks, theres a pop song that repeats baby and oooh or goin to da club, and a rap song that sings about getting laid and making money or shooting somebody. To label any of of em as "oh they are all the same" and then go on to say how awesome X genre is, is just stupid.

Do you find the term white offensive? I would assume not since you used it to describe yourself. Same goes for the term black. Although its understood that HOW you say it can also affect how its received. "She is dating a white guy" is usually taken fine "hey white boy, get over here" isn't. If its just used descriptively to give more info about the person, its usually fine, if its used derogatorily to insult somebody and didn't need to be included, its probably not ok.

Its to lower the amount of applicants to a reasonable number. Especially if there is a fairly high unemployement rate, that means companies are going to get a lot more applicants, and potentially somebody that actually does fit there way too high requirements, but since its "entry level" they'll be paid less. If nobody actually fits their reqs, they'll go through the other people that applied anyway and pick the one they like (which is what usually happens, so if you think you'd actually be a good fit, by all means apply even if you don't quite fit the requirements)

but....how did the tracker have anything to do with it? I mean I could see if the ex tried to like act like a pizza delivery guy or something and he saw that Juan was still baking it so the delivery guy couldn't possibly be there yet so he didn't open the door...but all he did was wait it out and stall for time til the pizza guy showed up. Pretty sure a pizza hut guy coulda done the same exact thing.

Looked it up since I didn't believe you, and ya its true. However the leading article that popped up was about a Finnish world sauna championship where somebody died from being in 110 for 6 minutes. Also went on to say people could actually handle like 140, but only for a couple minute bursts, and anything over like 80 was only for "sauna freaks" meaning they have trained their body for that kind of heat over a long time. The average person wouldn't survive it for very long at all.
Also your body temp wouldn't be that high, which is how I understood the question, your blood would literally be boiling.

Its not really talking about whether your parents get along afterwards or not, its about whether your parents new bf/gf will still get along with your parent after THEY break up. Usually that doesn't happen, which means they are also forced to break up with the kid. In fact I can't think of any case where I've seen a parent be ok with an ex hanging out with their kid after they broke up (again not ex husband/wife, but ex bf/gf from after the divorce)

No offense, but "hm....should we make actual armor for women because there are a few that really dislike skimpy armor and will play our game? OR should we make super skimpy armor because then lots of horny teenage boys will buy our game specifically for that?"
I understand woman armor in most games is unrealistic, personally I hardly notice it unless its very extreme (I had to go look back at Dragon Age and Mass Effect, even though I played both of them quite a bit). However, the number of people that WONT buy a game because the female characters have skimpy armor is next to nothing compared to the people that WILL buy it, because some hot skimpy female is on the cover or in the commercial. There's a reason for the saying "sex sells"

Lots of countries it isn't free. The reason for it is the same reason you see job applications with higher than possible requirements. (Need 5 years experience on a program that came out 2 years ago, etc.) To weed out the people that have any doubts about wanting to go there. They are gonna get tons of applicants anyway, and only so many can be accepted, at least this way they can lower the amount of garbage applicants so they don't have to waste a bunch of time and effort looking them over just to reject them. If a $35 application fee is really making you question whether you should even bother applying to said college, you probably shouldn't bother. You are gonna be paying thousands of dollars to get through school (whether you are paying that money or you have scholarships paying it, its still being paid one way or another) The tiny application fee should in no way be a limiting factor for you.

because "frige" wouldn't be pronounced the same as "fridge" and since its just supposed to be a shortening of the word refrigerator, your supposed to keep the pronunciation similar, even if you have to spell it a little different.

That doesn't look like ceramic though. You can break any knife if you are doing stupid things with it. Using it to pry things open, jamming it into things, etc. Also putting it in the dishwasher can cause this. The high heat messes up the steel, making it more brittle (and harder to keep sharp) which means more likely to break. That's why you should never put a good knife in the dishwasher.

Right, because this issue doesn't have any effect on ANYBODY other than the woman making the decision of an abortion. I mean, the man doesn't have any pressure and doesn't have to pay tons of child support if she decides to keep it. The woman's family definitely never has added pressure to help support the baby if she can't take care of it. And if she decides for an abortion, of course none of those people could be devastated about the fact that they are losing a family member. Just because in your mind its not a human life yet, doesn't mean they are just automatically going to have the same opinion and not care.
Yes, the decision should ultimately be up to the woman, but to act like its just her body and thus has no effect on anybody else is extremely selfish and ignorant.

heck an ovary or uterus is, other than its "down there" somewhere. Not knowing what it is means its harder to really picture it or understand what it does "does that mean they can't have sex?"
On the other hand you have breast cancer. It affects a lot more women (not sure where brialex got her info but ovarian is not the leading caner killer. It might have a higher mortality rate, but the number of women that get it is nowhere near the number that get breast cancer, so overall deaths its much lower) AND it clearly affects a body part that men and women know and love and would just so happen to donate lots of money to keep as many women with those body parts and they can! "yay boobies!"
Its like if you were trying to raise money to support 2 different animals. One is panda bears and the other is....coconut crabs (the weird giant spider looking monsters). If your only goal was to raise the most amount of money, which animal would you pick to support?

Its just a politics thing. Its all about getting the most support (funding) you can. You are gonna get more support (funding) based on how lethal the illness is, so things like asthma and diabetes, even though they are so common, don't get the support since those things alone usually don't kill people. Then you go into who the illness is affecting. Female targets get more sympathy (sexist or not, its true), which means more support (funding). Then you still have a few illnesses that fit the criteria, breast cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, gynecologic cancer (ovarian, uterine, cervical, etc.) Lung cancer is out, even though its, I believe, the most common killer, but because its mostly due to smoking, harder to sympathize and donate to people that did it to themselves. Colon cancer is out because 1, it doesn't mostly target women and 2, "ew thats your butt, right?" both of which mean less potential support. So you are left with gyno or breast cancer. Lot of males don't know what the

Thats why people complain its such a slippery slope to start doing that. First its "well obese people chose to become obese, we won't give them free healthcare or limited/delayed/non-prioritised whatever" then after a while its "well you know smokers choose to do that to themselves too, lets exclude them too"
After a while, "hey you know professional bullriding has an extremely high injury rate, they know that going in, we'll exclude them"
Then its "Well American football and hockey aren't all that much better than bullriding, better move them out too"
"Hm, you know we shouldn't be excluding so many sports while still allowing others. That's discrimination! We better just exclude any and all sports now, just to be safe. I mean they do all CHOOSE to do those sports, knowing the risks."
Of course, I still go by the theory that I shouldn't have to pay for everybody else's healthcare to begin with, but picking and choosing what to exclude is just BS.

So why should a football player (American football) get free healthcare for his injured groin, torn ACL, and concussion, and yet somebody else shouldn't get it free for *insert X reason here*? He CHOSE to play football knowing these kind of injuries are extremely likely, just look at how long most football careers are. Think the overall average career of a football player is like 6 years. The average for a running back drops it down to 3 years. Its something so taxing on the human body they can only competitively do it for about THREE YEARS. Most obese or smokers take a lot longer than 3 years to mess up their bodies.

I'm not saying a size 0 is perfect, the weight was more of a general thing, or that a flat iron doesn't hurt your hair. The post was talking about physical imperfections that people can't change. I'm just saying that many of those things listed CAN be changed. Having too big of a nose, can't change that without surgery. Too big of ears, can't change without some surgery. Freckles, can't really change without lots of makeup or surgery. Lots of acne, can't change assuming they wash their face regularly. You CAN change a lot of those other things. I'm not saying everybody SHOULD do them, in fact many of the things I wouldn't suggest at all, just saying they are something you could change if you really wanted to.
@shawol I wasn't really considering braces the imperfection, but rather a person with really crooked teeth w/o braces to be the imperfection. Braces would be the solution because eventually you'll have straight teeth and no braces.

Kinda hard to know what somebody in the kitchen is being paid unless you know somebody at the restaurant. Really easy to see the waiter, that you know works basically just for tips, getting stiffed. You pay them for the services they do for you. They still took your order and got you drinks and brought your food out, even if they were rude or whatever they did to be a terrible server. Quit being a cheap ass.
Not saying kitchen staff should be paid crap or anything, just saying the avg customer won't ever know what a guy in the back makes, whereas they could easily figure how much a server makes because they are getting paid right in front of them.

Girls in bikini 5 comments
guest · 9 years ago
Seeing a lot of posts about this, but a lot of it just has to do with the context of seeing the girl. If you see her in a bikini, its most likely a public thing and she prepared for it and knew people would be seeing her in it before she even went out. If you see her in lingerie, its most likely private, which means she probably wasn't prepared for a stranger to be looking at her. (lot of underwear is also see through to some extent, which is another reason, but the above explains why even if the underwear is actually less revealing)
It's like say a person is fine with public speaking, as long as they have time to prepare and practice and everything, they'll be at ease doing it. However, out of the blue tell them they have to give a speech right then, and they'll probably freak out a bit. Even if the impromptu speech is shorter or on an easier subject (or even if the lingerie covers more than the bikini) because they weren't expecting it, they'll still freak out more about it.

Depends on the urine and what you've done to it. For instance if you had drank a ton of water before doing whatever happened that you ended up in the wilderness alone, your pee is still gonna have a fair bit of water in it. You can also filter it to some extent so at least a little of the bad stuff wouldn't be going back into your body. It's meant to be a life or death situation, if drinking your urine can hydrate you even that little bit needed to find real water or help, then it was worth it. Its not meant as a "well I'm a bit thirsty and can't get back to my car for a few hours, I'll just drink my pee"

If you can't afford it, you shouldn't be there to begin with. I hear the same stupid thing about tipping at restaurants. "Oh I'm poor, I can't afford to tip." You are taking up the person's time and energy (not to mention table/counter space since most of that is limited) and you KNOW that pretty much all the money they make will be from people like you tipping them. If you can't be bothered to pay them for their services, you should have gone to the liquor store, or ordered food to go, or gone to a fast food place instead where you could serve yourself. By not tipping you are basically saying "I don't value you, your time, or what you have done for me"

No offense, but a lot of these things you CAN control. teeth=braces frizzy hair=flat iron eyes=contacts weight=less cookies. Only 2 you actually can't control (assuming the person is actually washing their face) is acne and nose.
If the person CHOOSES that its not worth doing any of those things, thats their deal and I've got no problem with it, but don't act like its some unfixable thing that they have no control over.

So by that logic, nobody should ever complain about justin bieber music right? I mean, unless you are coming out with your own music that millions of people listen to, you shouldn't be able to criticize his music for being bad. Same with critiquing any other artists. Unless you can come out with something better, you aren't allowed to criticize it?

So the girl wrote "spelt" which was really bothering me, so I had to check and make sure she didn't use it correctly before trying to correct her. Turns out this is another of those British vs American English things. American its always spelled, never spelt. While in England/Australia it can be either spelt or spelled, but most commonly its spelt.
So I suppose if she's from America, *spelled

But why take up the space knowing you aren't going to use it and somebody else COULD use it? It would be like going to McDonalds (or whatever restaurant/fast food you wanted) and ordering 2 hamburgers. You pay for both of em and go sit down and barely get through one of them. They are already paid for so you can't return the second one, but right outside the door you see a skinny homeless guy. Rather than give the hamburger to the guy that COULD use it, and would be grateful for it, you decide that since YOU paid for it, nobody else should benefit from it and you throw it in the trash. Oh and then post a sign on the trashcan saying "Do not remove hamburger, I paid for it, it is mine!"
