1 , words like "Gay" and "lesbian" shouldn't be used as insults or implied with negative meaning.

Everyone has potential to fail or succeed, it just so happens that some people take it for granted. Every generation has had some success and some failure , the point is though to not generalize by generation. We as human beings should ALL be working for the goal of improvement, not just wasting time and resources on blaming one another. The letter did have some very good points though, teenagers are human beings too, and who knows, young minds are becoming more and more vital to society, and that we all learn from the world around us. Especially as teenagers, when we have the most learning to do. We learn from what older generations do, so set a good example ! All we learned, we learned from you , so should we do as you say but not as you do ?
