Speaking up against the ban is not just 'benefitting them'. It's about standing up for humanity. About the fact that rape victims, even if they survive the rape, can die every day slowly, at the hands of their rapist. In fact, the laws would encourage just that. You don't have to like abortion to fight for it. You just need to understand that for some, there is no other choice. Banning it won't stop it, it will only stop the safe methods to do it.

The lesson: If it's in your power to DO something, then DO it, don't "raise awareness" for others to "do something" or agitate for the government to confiscate other people's money to inefficiently use the bureaucracy to do,it.

Well, it IS literally true. 16 girls could have become pregnant in Florida after a teen boy ejaculated in a pool somewhere else (maybe not even in Florida). The caption doesn't claim the ejaculation cause the pregnancies.

my condolences. generally, i'd suggest taking a bit time off, letting yourself cry and wallow, talk to someone close to you about your feelings. and don't forget to eat something. grief often numbs a lots of feelings, hunger as well, and it's no good being sad on empty stomach.

Pregnancy can cause both lethal and non-lethal damage to the woman carrying the child/children. It is their choice to continue or not, the father can provide their opinion but it should not ever be their choice over the person who would be at risk. It is the reason why there are birth control (hormonal) for women, each and every one has pretty terrible potential side effects but those side effects are less risky than carrying a child to term.
Your brother may have been willing to raise the children alone but simply carrying them to term was a risk to his ex-wife's life (especially with multiples).
And with the "scream their heads off...when the Dad refuses to pay for the kid..." child support is to support the child, who had no choice in their being born or not. The money is supposed to be for keeping them fed/clothed/housed/alive. It's not supposed to be "hey free money for having a kid" as your comment would suggest, and most child support payments don't come close to 1/2.
