To clarify: Each firefighter has a certain/different position with duties specific to that position and it is the same every shift. I kinda made it sound like they all have the same duties.

It is not a gag or fake. This happened in Cali, if I recall. This cop's main goal is to get the backed up traffic moving and he wanted the fire engine moved as it was blocking much or all of the road way. The FD's job is to secure the scene and they are in charge of it, not the cops. The fire engine is purposely parked in such a way as to shield the men working as well as the patient(s). This firefighter was unable to move the engine at the cop's request. He's not the driver of it and no, not any of them can hop in and drive. Every FF has the same 'position' (job, place to sit on the engine or rescue or tanker, etc) and it even depends on rank. The cop didn't want to hear it, words exchanged, etc. Source: 22 years a firefighters wife.
