I always felt bad that the only Gameboy I ever got was a the Gameboy Slim. And the only reason I got that was because of the Color was about to come out so prices dropped.

Where are the mosquitoes and other bugs? Cause I've been all over Florida and that is the one thing that's pretty universal.
The ultimate debate 14 comments

I don't feel The Lord of the Rings vs Harry Potter is a legitimate debate. They're different worlds, written decades apart and generally speaking for two separate audiences. That being said I do favor LOR over HP but only in terms of how much I like them.

Never been in a tornado proper but have seen a few in the distance. Hurricanes are just really windy massive storms that can do a lot of damage but can also be fun. Played many a game of Ultimate Frisbee in hurricanes. Oh yeah I'm also from Florida so that might make me a bit jaded when it comes to them. We were ranked third for the most tornadoes in the country last year just so you know.

The second version is closer to the original story of Peter Pan. Not that the lost boys grew up but if they failed to comply with Peter's demands either because they willfully did not or were physically unable to (like say gain to much weight and couldn't lose it fast enough) Peter would kill them, replace them, and forget they ever existed. Seriously. I read the original in college and it ruined Peter Pan for me.

A tree growing through an abandoned piano 7 comments

Of course that piano has clearly been cut so the tree could grow. My guess is that it was placed around the tree then left so the tree would actually grow out and envelope parts of the piano. That would make a great photo. Needs another decade probably for the tree to expand.

Hmm, someone should really just look at the science behind this instead of making something up. It's really because when you sleep your brain disconnects the control between your conscious mind and your ability to move your body. This keeps you from moving while you dream but still allowing you to move in your dreams. Its also why some people wake up and are paralyzed for a bit before their brain kicks in and realizes its made mistake and allows you to move. The jerking happens when your brain hasn't shut off your control completely yet and thus allows partial movement. There is no proof of any life threatening issues behind the jerking. It is fun however to scare people by telling them that though.

That looks more like anti-car spikes than anti-homeless. I think they're there to prevent cars from driving across, not stop people from sleeping.

The buckets must weigh equal or more than the weight of the table. Most likely more than because that makes this easier to do. Think of it like this; tie a rope to a 2lb weight, throw rope over branch, tie other end to a pencil. Now the weight will pull the pen up as it goes down. However, if fix it so the pen has to go through the weight in order to travel up, then the weight itself will stop the pencil. This is essentially what's happening here. the table is not holding the buckets up but rather the buckets are holding the table down.
