I just tried this, but it didn't seem to work extremely well...It did make a blueish sort of color light but nothing seemed to really "glow" as normal blacklights do. It could be that my phone is white vs black or that i used somewhat translucent vs transparent tape but it's still pretty cool

I definitely agree with you--I have been avoiding Harry potter blogs on tumblr and accts on Instagram so I don't see spoilers, but I think that there is still a responsibility onto the poster. I generally don't check every post's title before I'm reading it which is why I think that the hidden tool is worthwhile in this case. It's is specifically for NSFW posts AND spoilers, and even if the book has been out for a while, you have to assume that not everyone has read it and that posting something like that is a spoiler nonetheless. I do think that looking for Alaska is less popular than the Harry Potter series, but as John said, even though it has been out for almost seven years, people are still buying the book (which is also A LOT) who haven't read it and want to read it without it being spoiled. As goes with the bible, it's safe to say that a book in the bible is much different from a Harry Potter book, not just in the storyline, but in the popularity and age.
