I'm pretty sure that we don't kill cows for milk 59 comments

We are already taking up massive amounts of space for agriculture, do we really need to cut down the rest of the Amazon? Cows serve no purpose in nature because of centuries of cultivation and a vast majority have been lived in captivity their whole lives, they can't miss what they never had.
The problem is currently not how we get the food, but what we do with it. We have most food going to countries that don't need as much as they get and a tiny portion, if any, going to others that do need it. We should worry about our own species, and by extension the planet, before others. It's not selfish, it's common sense.
This not my direct opinion, but the results of pretty much every statistic every gathered about this.

When the flood gets bad 11 comments

It's possible that they were built like that intentionally, expecting heavy flooding in that area. The door would also need to be sealed like that, otherwise the house would still fill up slowly, and that would definitely be intentional.

Well most dialysis or bypass machines keep the blood flowing at a constant speed, not in bursts like the heart. So it obviously has terrible effects on other organs.
But see heywood's post below, they make a good point.

When you open it, it does say:

Koalas have a "smooth brain".
That means they don't have the thinky-thinky parts of the brain (they're a little bit slow).

Asked a medical relative, about 6-8 regular injections of air would be enough. Depends on the size of the person, children could be killed in 3.

Actually, we don't have enough space. Going by current technology, with our planet's land area, for everyone in the world to have the living space of a middle-class, average, American house hold (a decent house with 3-6 people and a small garden), we would need around 6 more planet earths.
Just because you might not have a high population density in your area/country, doesn't mean it isn't through the roof (literally) in some places, like India, China or parts of Central Europe.
