Astronomers don't have to be good at math. Astrophysicists do.

But were the seeds different colors/hues? In my experience, the seeds are what packs the punch, not the brightly colored ovary flesh.

I learned about all of the major religions and a number of minor ones, as well. I was taught about them in history, sociology, and philosophy classes. While there was some bias based on the teachers' more extensive knowledge of their own religions, I think they did a pretty fair job of explaining the basic tenets and historical development.

Cats do things as the post shows for attention. But they also like unique areas, such as a piece of ground that is otherwise identical to the rest, but is clearly demarcated with bright tape. They lay on things like newspapers and boxes because it provides insulation, and cats also like to experience different textures.

How much do you sleep 6 comments

Don't you wish sleep worked like that? Like you are aliquoted a bank of sleep hours and wake hours for the year and get to spend them as you choose. Have a really busy week? No problem, don't sleep at all, just as long as you take an extra hour and 5 minutes of sleep each other week for the year.

The volcanic ash of what appears to be a basalt volcano consists of water vapor and numerous rapidly dissolved molecules that become a collection of ions. All of them are moving rapidly and rubbing against each other chaotically. It's creating a very dense storm cloud. And also lava.

Not always. Enzymes can also put things together or rearrange them; I guess that is like dropping a remix.

As if cephalopods weren't already badass enough. There are ones that are transparent... and can still change colour and texture.

Supposedly, the photoreceptors in your eye can detect even a single photon and transduce a *very* low-level signal through the optic nerve.

Tbh, it is probably more like a mathematician or CS. An algorithm using fractals is the likeliest culprit. But who says mathematics can't be an art?

If "popped my cherry" is on both sides of the equation (marriage), then you can cancel it out. Algebra works in life, too.

While it is true that Graham's number represents much more information than it would take to turn any region of spacetime into the most efficiently packed information possible (at least with our current understanding of physics), i.e. a black hole, the amount of information it represents does not actually exist in your brain. In much the same way that you can conceptually understand what infinity is and even count up from 0 by multiples of googleplexes until you die, you did not immediately introduce an uncontainable amount of information in one place and create a kugelblitz.

Biomimetics is a fascinating multi-disciplinary field that takes awesome stuff like this and turns it into invisible, silent pathogenic nanoparticle-deploying drones. For example.
