I am actually a published literary critic, philosopher, and scientist. So I can rightfully claim at least three of those.

Unfortunately, being unprofessional and excessively/unwelcomingly open about sexuality is very much herd behavior these days. It really isn't anyone's business but your partner's.

There is so much noise going on in your head: breathing, blood pumping, innate sounds of endo and perilymph, etc. Your brain automatically ignores these sounds unless you really concentrate, in much the same way it ignores the sight of your nose and eyelashes unless you look specifically for them or you ignore how socks feel soon after you put them on. Sensory adaptation is the attenuation of response to a constant stimulus. Chances are good that most organisms would have developed a sense of hearing with a "blind spot" at the frequency range of the sun's noise.

That's not necessarily true. The different coupling constants (what governs the strength of the fundamental forces) are not obligated to be the same values in all universes within the multiverse. It is more likely that there are an obligatory set of universe where they take on every possible value. In addition, the number of dimensions, the types and number of fundamental forces, and essentially everything else could be different, thus yielding entirely different "laws of physics".

That was a great book. I also enjoyed The River, but I haven't read any of the other sequels.

More properly, everything in the universe is composed of a set of fundamental particles that are simultaneously waves. As waves, they have a probabilistic nature and could potentially be observed in essentially an infinite series of different locations and times with different properties at the same time. Each of these observations is correct, and to reconcile this with physical laws that make sense, an infinite series of universes may pop into existence at each instance of time. All of these infinite series' of universes together consist of the multiverse.
