Why is it called Curiosity? Because the prototype got loose and killed a bunch of cats.
Picasso's paintings through his life 13 comments

Also, with the constant improvements in photography during his life, Picasso saw no reason to paint things as they can be seen every day, but sought to show their essence. A common explanation of his images is showing what something looks like from every angle simultaneously, and I find this is like the quantum mechanics of painting: most people don't understand it, but it is (for all of its oddity) impressive in its own way.

I thought the stats professor was flipping off a student at first glance, so I was wondering why his response was the best ever.

Every single one of us has cancerous cells in our bodies. If you live long enough, I guarantee some of those cancer cells will survive and thrive to the point where they are detectable cancers. However, chemotherapy provides a selective pressure for cancer cells that are not effectively destroyed by those agents. So after a cancer patient completes their treatment, and no more cancer cells are found, the chemotherapeutics have wreaked havoc on their normal body cells and clonal populations of chemoresistant cancer cells are afforded the opportunity to gain a good foothold and thus recur. Both the disease and the current treatments are really shitty.

He had that big, non-aerodynamic camera and ran in an awkward position, yet he still pulled out in front.

Many things that were a huge scientific and engineering breakthrough are used for banal tasks. Knowledge that used to be guarded as scientific secret or at least known only by a few experts in the field is now common knowledge for kids in primary school. We are making progress, we just have no clue how to do it gracefully.

Notice how the one above it starts to do it as well? The cells are responding to signals telling them to divide. Tumors are groups of cells that do this whenever they are bored, without being told to.

Despite all of that, there is definitely still a big luck element to his success. I am not saying that he isn't talented. I am just saying that there are literally millions of people in the U.S. alone that go through the same shit as he does, and probably at least a hundred thousand that would have comparable acting ability if they were in his spot. Lots of people work hard and never get shit from it, so saying that luck has nothing to do with it is equally a spit on them.

If you want me to explain one or more of those systems in more detail with less technish, I would be happy to. Sometimes I forget what is common knowledge and what is esoteric knowledge. Comments just don't have enough space, so I gave a concise description of a few cool related technologies. Or make a "Chat" so I don't flood this post, even if it is all related.

My average is 176. Surely the current tests are different than ones taken by most of these celebrated scientists.
