Different sports have dealt in different ways with the reality that genetics has an effect on how you compete -- and it isn't just men vs. women. Wrestling, for example, has weight classes. People just need to rethink how (and why) they are dividing things up.

Also:
1. Planting trees is great, but does not exactly undo the vast addition of carbon to the biosphere that continues to come from burning fossil fuels. Carbon dioxide pulled from the air by trees will eventually return to the air -- the hope is that by expanding the biosphere, you can settle at a new point where the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide is ok. Note that the biosphere is not nearly big enough right now to do that, and we continue to burn fossil fuels.
2. The hardest part of "planting trees" is not getting a tree or planting it -- it's getting people to devote land to this purpose.

Everybody gets themselves in the same box -- my salary is this, so I can afford this house and that car, they lock themselves into a bunch of obligations, and now if the money doesn't come in they're stuck.

Forget tin foil hats -- for this, you need nothing less than a tin foil condom.
