In I even Funnier, a book by James Patterson, Jamie goes to visit his parents and his sister's grave. His name is already chiseled in, with his birth year and a dash. While his Uncle (whom brought him there) says a silent prayer, Jamie thinks about how that little squiggle represents his whole live. Everything he does will be in that small dash.
Otherwise, it's a funny book, but it's also the sequel to 'where' . I recommend both. They're good books ^^
