The target acquired part is more psychological than it is about clarity, which is still very important.
It is a default setting for people like myself who have the "hunter" gene and tend to spot animals quickly.
Though, I suppose if you don't have the "hunter" gene you could try to train your attention to try to quickly spot targets as soon as they come into view. Though, you would probably be distracted all the time which isn't good.
It's a blessing and a curse.
