If it was counting up then wouldn't it be the specific amount of days, hours, minutes and seconds until you reached him. So every step you took away from him and him from you, it would go up a couple seconds

Wouldn't there be room for error, as in your clock was counting down for person 1, but there one was counting down for person 2 and person 2 was counting down for you. But you all met at the same time and couldn't figure out who's was who's.

My dad did something similar.
Because we where in town where people enjoy parking next to you no matter how many spaces are free ( and at this point there were five other cars ). My dad took up two spaces ( somthing he never does ) next to a small garden area, someone saw this as an opportunity to park right between the garden and my dads car.
