Well, for the second part of tax the wealthy it's for certain reasons. Like yes they worked for their money, but they are rolling around in it while some people can't even make ends meet. There have been politicians that get PAID to go over seas and do fine dining to meet with foreign politicians.
And think about it like this. Let's say 8% is tax. Let's say the average person makes $100 a year. 8% of 100 is 8. Now let's say some wealthy people make 100,000. 8% of that is $800. Notice how it makes more of a significant dent in the money of the people who don't make as much. The wealthy people have plenty of money to spare except when they live extravagantly.
It's better to tax the rich because while some people can't even go to the doctor without dipping into a savings account that doesn't even have enough money in it in the first place, people can buy that 24k ice cream whenever they want.
