I think Natalie is smart enough to know the difference. That's what she means, I think, the baseless hating thing. Because she's not arrogant at all. Even if you are, nice people would keep their mouths closed. Mean people would be mean about it. And people who tell it like it is would tell it like it is. I'm not saying criticizing people is bad, I'm just saying that you shouldn't let it get to you because it's a reflection of them too. For example: you have a favorite artist but another person criticizes them that their work is bad. It doesn't mean the artist sucks, right? It just means the other person has a different taste.
