I think its more of way to point out how bad rape is, and get rid of the mentality that it is somehow the victims fault. Like the federal judge who recently asked a lady who was raped why she didn't just keep her knees together.

In my opinion I think it is justifiable in some cases. Definitely not all rape cases, not even most. I think in some situations, far and few between, some individuals are so bad, so evil, that they cannot possibly have any good influence on society, even behind bars, and they need to be rid of from society.
