No new British season - that just the 5 series that ended up having Alex, Hal and McNair's son Tom. I think the American version has a new series coming out soonish though.

I absolutely love the original - I would definitely recommend it. Despite some of the first plotlines being the same (as the American began as almost a direct copy and then evolved into its own show), the original seems darker and braver to me. It's also (I know this might sound silly as it's such an obvious thing to say) incredibly British in its ways, giving it a quaint, homely feel that somehow suits the characters despite their more monstrous qualities. However, in this way it may not be quite to the typical American's taste - like the difference between UK and US humour isn't always for everyone. I'd definitely say at least give it a go - the original has a sweet quality to it that means it seems to grow on you more and more :)

I tried watching it before but couldn't catch what they were saying but since I've watched plenty of other British series since then, maybe i can catch on lol

It used to be like that sometimes with some American shows for me when the characters had particularly strong accents ;) not anymore though - lots of television watching solved that problem!

I think it might work for me. I had a hard time with misfits too but after about 4 episodes i got it lol

Misfits did have an interesting mix of British phrases and accents - I can imagine how Kelly's accent could've been been difficult! True Blood threw me a little at first (that has some very deeply Southern accents and phrases!) but I got it after a couple of episodes :)

Lmao youre not alone with True Blood. Southern accents throws me a lot. Lol Kelly's accent had me like dafuq did that bish just say??? And the phrases confused me a lot. Like. "Are you taking a piss?" I was like uhhh, what?

I'm going to be honest, I hate the American version but I love the original British version.

Southern can quite easily become a drawl where individual words are indistinguishable, can't it? And the vowels' sounds can turn really different! We do have some funny phrases - I always forget that other countries don't really have ones like 'taking the piss' X) I can't really think of America having any weird equivalents to our strange phrases and swear words. But then again, I'm generally surprised at how little Americans seem to swear on their shows - they say 'hell' and 'heck' etc a lot instead.

For the lack of swear words we have sex scenes, yay!! Lmfao bitch comes out a lot now. I never understood why everyday words is blocked from tv.
