I work at a Subway and after making a fresh batch of Tuna, I had an older gentlemen tell me it tastes like cat food. After explaining to him and my boss that it was as fresh as can be and made correctly, I had to throw the whole tub away and make a new batch while he received a $25 gift card for a $5 sandwich.
Okay first I agree the girl is fuuucking stupid but the sarcasm(which was implied with enthusiasm) should not have been used. He could have said it isn't possible. And explained the physics, but him getting fired is irrational and her getting $500 is retarded.
I agree with you that in that situation one shouldn't use sarcasm no matter the intelligence level of the customer, always be respectful of others. It's idiotic to get fired for such bs but in an age of lawsuits for anything most companies will just use this approach.
I'm glad where i work that if you're stupid, you're stupid....... the customer is not always right.... especially if they're as dumb as a pile of bricks
