I thought ligers were a lie o_o
Can they reproduce or are they infertile like mules? If they are the only of there kind it would't matter either way I guess but I still have sooo many questions. Google here I come...

The idea is interesting. But, isn't a waste of time? The offspring are infertile. Wouldn't it be better to pair the parents with potential mates of the same species? And therefore (hopefully) have fertile young? Lions and tigers are rare and disappearing rapidly.

Besides the fact that they are infertile, hybrid animals like these often have genetic issues and disabilities and some are more susceptible to illnesses. Although I agree they're cute, I can't get too excited because of all the bad things that can happen to them. I'm not trying to be a buzzkill, just saying.
