This is going to sound way preachy, but hear me out. I work for a program that takes care of victims of domestic/sexual abuse- we find them temporary homes and shelter, legal representation, etc. So everyday is pretty intense. But I have things happen in my personal life that bother me- I fight with my mom, my dog wrecks the couch- little things. I used to feel bad about even feeling bad about any of it. But a woman who I worked with, who had been doing this kind of work for 35+ years told me "Listen, there is no hierarchy on pain. Everyone has pain, it's all real to them, and none of it should be dismissed. Everyone's pain deserves to be acknowledged, even if it is just by themselves."
It's stuck with me. So I give myself permission to rant about my burnt toast or whatever, so I can move on to help others. Don't feel bad, is what I am saying, in a very long way lol.
this is just wrong. no person should be able to live with titles like those, especially those who had no say to on how they were going to live their lives, which is everyone. they can't judge her off that
at least she overcame that problem with better friends than her classmates. usually people who get treated like this doesn't end well. im glad she turned her haters to motivators
I completely agree with all of you- I like the way she is using the title and the horrible way she was cruelly bullied to reach out and make something positive come from it. It bothers me, even on this site to see people tell.those who are bring cyberbullied to simply "turn off the computer" or "don't look" I think it's something we need to, as the first generation raised online, start taking as seriously as offline bullying. The impact on the target is the same.
Think of it this way- if we focused on a solution to find the reasons people feel the need to bully (insecurity, ineptness ignorance, bigotry, cruelty, vanity, etc) and start at the roots- teaching respect, basic shared humanity, and value. You can look around and see most hate spreads from ignorance, and ignorance breeds fear and cruelty- there are ways to combat that.

People who can stand up to bullying also are the ones who don't feel the need to bully, and those are the people who don't raise bullies. It's the same solution.
you don't know that. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. they could find her beautiful. I'm sure some people find (insert person you find beautiful) unattractive and vice versa. Unless you can define beauty you don't know for sure. And you can't. so, next time you feel like saying something completely judgemental like that, why don't you back off and let fireroses have their opinion. you can say that you think something different. But you can't say that they don't have a certain opinion. That's not how opinions work.

First off, I'm not judging anyone, aside from maybe Roses for possibly posting that just for likes. Secondly, basic attractiveness CAN be defined scientifically. For example, humans find symmetry attractive, because it is a good measure of the quality of one's genes.
Believe it or not, I respect this lady for her work, but don't go tainting that by pretending the very reason she embarked down this path doesn't exist.

Basic attractiveness can be measured scientifically, and while she might not be whts's stereotypically beautiful, we can still see the ways in which she IS beautiful. Both physically and emotionally :)
Not only have you two missed the point (for whatever dubious reasons, I don't care), you don't even know what "stereotypically" means.

I was able to see past the point that he meant typically and typed stereotypically and I was more looking at, you know, his "opinion" and "ideas". But if you want to win an argument by pointing out typos, hey, if it works for you...

Yeah, she's right guys. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You know your crush/partner/spouse? someone in the world would look at them and think eewww. same goes for all of us. But you know what?
