It isn't suicide, it's more on the lines of them having no rights and they are beaten to death by men and thrown into jail when they try to speak up . Dowry deaths are a perfect example as well

^ what turtlerocks said. Basically, women have much fewer rights in S. Asia compared to men. There was a saying I read somewhere that talked about societies with few women rights: "The only choice they get to make is when and how they die." Sad but true, because often not their lives are entirely controlled by their families (especially fathers) and their husband's families.
