Or we do know but refuse to accept it because the ramifications of accepting Jesus as who he said he was is counter to the way we believe he should be. Our way puts us in "control". His way puts him in control.

Actually, Jesus was an actual person, regardless of whether you think he was the son of god is another story, but he did exist. Lawyered.
