When you pulled the straw up and down it makes a (horrible) sound. This is the closest a lot of us will get to playing a violin.

And I'm sure that you play beautifully :) but for us mere mortals the scraping of a plastic straw bow upon a plastic lid of a fast food cup is the closest we will come to wielding the sheer majesty of a violin.

I used to play the violin for school as and elective, and I enjoyed it somewhat until we had to start practicing and hour a day, even on holidays, for a grade! So then I quit, but still play when I get the chance.
