You can have tattoos and be a doctor, just as long as you cover them.

It's not like just because you have tattoos some magical spell is placed over you so you can't be successful and smart, but it does taint how people see you...

I know a lot of guys with tons of tattoos in the oil field business. All make loads of money. * the tatts can be covered by a dress shirt.*

This is from an ad that's basically saying "don't judge people for how they look". As far as I'm aware he's not actually a doctor.
