I shall shine some light on my claim.

Economically, the only way to get things of value, is to put a price on it and be willing to buy it. WIthout a price set by individual companies, but set by governments, the drive to make profit is no longer there, so the government will spend a certain amount on healthcare depending on budget not depending on the people that are in need, because once again, they aren't profiting from it. Whereas, if it was a company, they'd want to profit, so they will cater to as many people they can cater to while still profiting.

Well you forget the quality of service (lucky americans!), in other countries you may have to wait or the conditions aren't as good. You forget that not only you have to pay rent, you have to pay other stuff like taxi and food.
EDIT: my perception of second-world was innacurate
Normally I would agree, but there was this whole thing not too long ago on Daily or Colbert about how prices are arbitrarily decided by something called a Chargemaster (IIRC), and can vary wildly even from state to state.
Not sure I understand that? Are you saying that if a country is in debt, they can't perform surgery as well as a country that isn't in debt? (Genuine question..)
Well my country is so heavily in debt (compared to what they can pay, plus they have a deficit), that good doctors are moving away, also the government can't spend much on new machines and infrastructure, so we are on the mid-90s in terms of medical advancement. But actually it is cheaper than in the 'States.
Okay I can't speak for Spain but when I was studying abroad in England a local told me that even though the individual price for health care is lower it's because taxes are higher so it's not really cheaper. It's just how the pay is spread out. And if you don't mind paying for someone else's health care then instead of trying to change the USA...just move to Canada or England?
