I am sorry to have to tell you this, the police are not here to protect you. SCOTUS has ruled as much. They are supposed to protect and serve the law, not the citizens. Carry your own protection.

They weren't NYPD officers they were transit officers. They were still inside the train when all this happened and arrested the killer. Google the story this guy is suing the city and trying to become famous over this. He because money hungry from all the press so that's why he's suing even his friends have said so.
