This whole societal expectations on men, the whole masculinity complex is something that is overlooked too much. People talk about how negative it is for boys to be seen as having seemingly feminine qualities, sensitivity, compassion, etc.- how insulting them by calling them girls, pussies, and the like is rampant- but the long term consequences aren't really ever thought of. Gender roles hurt everyone.
Some get over it and embrace being "metro"
This is why I love my boyfriend. He can be himself in every way. Don't like it? Good thing I wasn't trying to impress you.
This needs to be embraced more than the typical "show no emotion, be a warrior" mentality.
My cousin is really sensitive, and his dad told him to squish a spider. To man up and kill it. But he was really scared and I felt so bad. Not all men have to be super manly or brave. They can be however they want.
