This is why I love etymology. Selene is the Greek goddess of the moon, hence selenophobia.

Most people probably think this is a reference to Selena Gomez, but I am almost certain it is a reference to a Mexican pop star named Selena. She was killed awhile ago and a movie was made about her named Selena, starring Jennifer Lopez as Selena.
