It's a joke, like saying the Dark Ages were called such because it had so many knights. At least I took it as a joke, and a pretty funny one lol

Or it's a knight who just had his suit buffed up nice and clean by his squire. That may or may not be a gay reference but it's cool if it is. It's also historically correct too because they used animal fat, vinegar and sand to buff up armor and it was the knights in training a.k.a. the squires who did this and when they became knights and had squires themselves they made them do the same thing too. That also might sound like a ... awww forget it.

Reminds me of one of my favorite books, "Knight's Wyrd." Read it in middle school. Good stuff.
