I feel like everyone being so against it, is what makes it so degrading. In all honesty, who cares, it's not me or anyone I know let them do what they want. But by saying "this is so degrading to the female image, this is not ok" is what actually makes it degrading and not ok. Or at least that's what I think.
look at it this way, if u had a daughter, would you be happy to let her be in an outfit that shows off her bumcheeks shaking what you gave her in front of perverted men or be happy to know its online for people to perv and judge her body? how is it different from the dances they do in strip clubs?
How is ANY modern dance done by a young woman different from what they do in a strip club? :/ People have been shaking their behinds for years. Men judge women's body whether they're shaking it or not. As a girl in highschool, I can also confirm that the whole bumcheeks thing is the standard for summer shorts. What's degrading is that it's allowed to be continued, and even endorsed as being degrading by others. :/ Don't like it? Start a petition for reasonable shorts in a fashion line, make sure your kids don't do it, and and refuse to live in a society where women are seen as objects of pleasure. Because really, these girls are just doing and being what society has back-handedly dictated them to be and do.
kittycb15 I agree with to to an extent. i disagree in places. defo see where u are coming from about what society bit. well everyone is entitled to their opinion on wether twerking and bum cheeks as as a normal summer outfit is right or wrong.let me tell what i see. In summer where i work they sell those type of shorts for adults and you get young girls trying it on coming out to show their mum and men around looking at their behind and the mum buying it. I think thats sad. society has robbed and blinded people of what is right and what is wrong about that and twerking.
