I hate that the announcers get to point out and say how they messed up like "last time" and talk about wrong stances when they wouldn't even make it 3 seconds in the event yet get the right to judge.
Well just because they can't do something, doesn't mean they don't know the how it's supposed to properly look. Plus, some of them are former Olympians. And they actually do take some non performance things into account. I found this out earlier today lol.
If you went later in round 1 and had to do your 2nd run in the early round, they're slightly less harsh on the judging (at least in the figure skating). And if the figure skaters do big twirls or spins in the 2nd half of the performance, the judges understand the legs are slightly more fatigued so won't be as harsh. But they're still Olympic judges and they will be strict
I can't stand watching them mess up because you know how much they beat themselves up over it after... I wanna pat them on the back and say "it's ok buddy your still number one in my books"
I hate watching them walking back in shame as if they did something terrible :( Especially if it was their last Olympic games before they had to retire.
i just cry on the inside because this is the biggest thing in their WHOLE life, like their past like decade has been leading up to it and they did something silly and it's like when you do a trick and you try to show someone but you mess it up and you're all like; 'no i swear i can just give me another chance' but on a HUGE SCALE OF DISAPPOINTMENT AND DISPAIR

(I found the opportunity and I took it, but I understand your point. So yus.)
