I think it's a baby armadillo. Pangolins have that tannish coloring, though I believe they're more elongated. They also have a longer tail, and some of them can hang from trees with it!

It's a three banded armadillo, the second smallest of the armadillos and the only armadillo able to curl up completedly into a ball
