I used to use a computer at work or the library for this exact reason. Now I finally figured out you can use incognito browsing.

incognito doesnt work here - amazon etc use your ip+browserid+host to recognize what you searched for. If you search on your laptop for cake, it show you ads about cakes on your other computers too

tipp for you: use vidalia bundle+tor. So amazon doesnt know you + doesnt show your kids ads from her presents
