Instead, tell them "that's how you help pay for college"

thank you!! i get that all the time for being a janitor, little do thry know they are paying for my college :)

I think all jobs have value and should be treated as such. I have a degree, but I earn more as a retail manager than I would in my original chosen field. I constantly get criticised for it, but I enjoy what I do and am proud of what I achieve. I can't stand job snobs!

And chances are those workers make more money than you will after college
