Yeah, I've read that pop music is more homogenized now than it's ever been, so if you don't like pop, then there's a lot of terrible music out there. However, as long as you aren't listening to the radio, there's a lot of good music to be found.

I agree. I listen to every genre except pop and country. I've found some amazing artists.

Somewhat true. People's tastes change as they grow up but also music today is geared toward money rather than entertainment.
