Some of us Christians aren't saying you cant get married if your gay we are just saying that we dont want to see you get married and we dont want yall to shove you to go and have gay sex on the side of the street. What you do in your own house is your business and I cant tell you your not aloud to do it.
When's the last time you've seen /anyone/ have sex on the street? And we have to watch you get married all the time. You can handle a couple of our marriages.
Not quite. Christians aren't saying "gay relationships should be banned," they're saying "leave the definition of 'marriage' alone so it can keep its sacredness to us." So, really, claiming that same-sex couples shouldn't use the word marriage to define their relationship is like being angry at someone for eating a doughnut but claiming that they're on the same diet as you.
We're not destroying the "sacredness of your marriages". Britney Spears does that all by herself. And for the record, the definition of marriage has been changed several times and was never expressly defined in the Bible.
But marriage isn't just a Christian thing. Muslims get married, does that make it any less sacred? Hindus get married, Athiests get married. Stop making poor excuses for protest. The only issue I have with gay marriage pertaining to religion, is that it shouldn't be done in a place of worship who's religion doesn't agree with it, i.e. a church, temple.
No religion openly disagrees with marriage except for the people who worship it. There are churches, temples, ect. Of every religion and they allow gay marriage. They gladly allow you in as living being to marry. There's also more things some religions should be more concerned about than gays ruining the sacredness at least in the western culture because I know most people there are against adults marrying children of 5-18 years old. Some religions allow it and that's their thing. I don't agree with it but I think that's a bigger concern if Greg and John want to marry. Also the bible used to say divorce was not allowed but one king forgot who changed it so he can divorce his wife to remarry. Marriage has lost it's sacredness the moment people married for anything other than love for each other. You should marry because the person you marry is the person you want there every second and want to die next to them when you are old and grey, skin rotting and bones turning to dust but you...
will look at them as if it was the 1st time you met and they are all you can look at. LOVE is what makes marriage sacred. Not marriage itself, not who marries who it's the love of two people bonding for life that makes marriage sacred. You can down vote me to hell because what I said, or because I support gay marriage or just because I am pansexual I don't care. But I do believe I should defend this nonsense of sacred marriage because there's one thing we can all agree on when it comes to marriage and that's LOVE. Sorry for taking two comments and for my rants and also sorry for calling out religions and cultures who allow underage marriage but I had to use my best ammo for this topic.
You have my upvotes, because I do agree that we have bigger problems then John and Greg or Sally and Jane getting married, but when I said the religions that don't condone homosexual marriage, I meant in their books or worship. And in the bible, there are scriptures supporting that. While I'm not at all opposed to gay marriage, I think it shouldn't be in a religion that doesn't agree with it. The separation between law and religion in America isn't clearly defined, but it needs to be. I could easily find laws and procedures that are based on religion and not just good morals (the pledge of allegiance for example). Anyway, marriage should be looked at under the law first, and then religion. That way, people who are arguing that the marriage of others doesn't agree with their religion, can shut up....
Its a good idea to make it law first then religion but I'm sure there's those handfuls who say religion over everything. If the religion allows it then the law can shove it and then they will use their amendment rights. They can be more stubborn than a mule.
this is so wrong!
if someone is eating a doughnut while you're on a diet, you have every right TO KILL HIM! like really, how can you support something that evil!
(i'm fine with gay marriage though.)
Sometimes i think people purposely post as a guest because they don't want their words they post to be identified with them. If you don't want to put your face and name with your words and opinions, maybe you should change your opinion.
If you truly believe in something you will stand by your opinion through the good and bad times. People get Bullied for believing in god but they never lose faith. Just the same for everything else. If you really believe you shouldn't be ashamed to believe it even if the world disagrees. (Sadly that goes for the morally wrong too, must be fair to everyone but you can internally hate their opinion or tell them you disagree. It's just up to them to stay with it or ditch it)
No its not..... I'm totally ok with Gay marrige But people who arent just judge you.so People can realise that your going to hell. Who ever dislikes my comment I don't care. You can't judge my beliefs its the same.thing as being gay. Gay people think that others should be.gay but it.don't judge them. So Dont judge me for being that way.its in the Bible!
Gay people don't want others to be gay.... It's not a cult or something like that... They just want to be treated normally and for those who are against marriage in would think they would love them to get married! Stuck with someone in misery until divorce so the person they leave can take half their things. (That's the negative view of marriage that I think most people who dislike gays would be kinder to the idea if they realize they suffer the same if they do. Even though they should be kind to the idea because if they marry that's none of their business they aren't even invited...)
I think until they are taken their rights to love, raising children, hospital visitation, ect. They will continue to shut us up because they won't understand how we feel. Actually, even if they lose all rights we don't have they still tell us we can't have it. :/
There is nothing wrong with people claiming homosexual marriage is against their religion. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs. Telling someone their beliefs are wrong is douchey though.
It is also with the State's rights to decide how they want to define marriage. 10th Amendment. It is a legal document and they are allowed to decide who can enter them. They can decide on the age of the participants and the number of participants. Why not the sex?

Except for my friend Christian. He's a Christian.
