If there are no animals in Pokémon world, how do they know what a rat is? O.o

Also, pikachu is the "electric rat pokemon" according to the pokedex, so maybe they have some sort of classification system. Like, it's a rat, but it's a certain species of rat

Actually excuse me, it is not. It's just "mouse pokemon" I swear they refer to him as an electric rat somewhere though
